Listed in the National
Register of Historic Sites,
Ocean Grove is a
charming and picturesque town. A multitude of buildings are
over a century old exhibiting fine Victorian architecture. One
is an authentically furnished museum complete with Victorian
gardens. As you
stroll the
tree-lined streets you'll be enchanted by verandas,
carpenter's lace, turrets, parks, vivid gardens and quaint shops
and
restaurants. Ocean Grove is a "picture taking paradise".

Founded in 1869 as a camp
meeting ground for Methodists and their friends, Ocean Grove
still maintains concern for the spiritual welfare of people by
providing optional worship services, bible teaching ministries
and life fulfillment seminars. Daily opportunity for Christian
growth is offered to all age groups. The camp meeting
facilities are open to everyone regardless of race, color or
religion.

The
Ocean Grove Camp Meeting
Association operates a fine cultural entertainment program
in it's
7000 seat auditorium which is famed for good acoustics.
World renowned celebrities and musicians perform here. The
Auditorium is a short walk from the Shawmont Hotel. There are
music festivals, band concerts, sing-a-longs, yacht races, art
shows and many other activities. Nearby are charter fishing
boats, golf courses, tennis courts, shopping centers and fine
restaurants. Walking or running the long boardwalk is
exhilarating. The entire family can enjoy riding the waves,
safe
surf bathing or soaking up the sun on the wide beach. |
